The Oregon Independent Party reported this week that it now has more than 10,000 registered voters. That's a drop in the bucket compared to the state's 753,212 registered Democrats and 684,285 registered Republicans, but still an impressive accomplishment for an organization that was first certified as a minor political party in January, 2007. Independent Party Membership Passes 10,000The Secretary of State reports that the Independent Party has more than 10,000 registered members. We are currently growing at a rate of 1,200 new members per month. At that rate, we will become Oregon's 4th largest political party by March 2008 and 3rd largest party by May 2008.
